"Here is the quilt and a detail of the machine quilting that Wendy Knight machine quilted for me. I used shades of rust and tarnish colored fabric, cottons, batiks and silks, and started at the top with the faint shades. I gradually increased the color intensity in the center and then used darker, more intense colors toward the bottom to gradually blend into the background. I wanted the colors of the stars to show how our lives begin with light, pale color, and as we mature, there is more brilliant light. We then begin to age, and our lights fade until we blend into the universe around us.
